Dr. David Ray Griffin 

美國加州克萊蒙神學院(Claremont School of Theology)的宗教哲學與神學之榮譽退職教授(Professor Emeritus of Philosophy of Religion and Theology)大衛格理芬博士是享譽國際的知名學者與神學家。他是「歷程研究中心」的創立人之一,也是懷德海(Alfred North Whitehead)《歷程與真際》(Process and Reality, 1979)一書流行版的校定者。Griffin是當代極為重要的歷程神學家,其說以懷德海以及哈茲洵(Charles Hartshorne)的哲學為本。近年來他也成為911事件的理論研究專家。

 

在學生期間,Griffin即對東方宗教感到興趣,之後曾教授神學與東方宗教的課程。同時他認為根據懷德海哲學發展出來的基督教自然神學,有助於我們尋求處理現代社會和生態問題的解答。Griffin 不僅對中西方宗教議題深感興趣,且洞察懷德海思想的「後現代層面」。他指出懷德海的「非感覺主義認識論」(nonsensationist epistemology)和「泛經驗主義本體論」(panexperientialist ontology)對於處理當代哲學問題,包括:身心交感論(mind-body interaction)、自由與被決定交互作用問題、從非經驗的物質產生經驗,以及在演化歷程中產生時間種種問題,都有極大的助益。1980-1年間,Griffin在劍橋大學和柏克萊大學研究其間,深入比較「現代性」和「後現代性」的課題。於是他發展出一「建構的後現代主義」(constructive postmodernism),作為克服宗教和現代科學衝突的方案。1983年,GriffinSanta Barbara成立了一個「後現代世界研究中心」(Center for a Postmodern World),並成為「1987-2004年紐約州立大學出版社建構後現代哲學系列」的主編。同時他也一直是《歷程研究》(Process Studies)的主要編輯。

目前Dr. Griffin是《基督教神學家手冊》(Handbook of Christian Theologians, ed. Musser and Price, 1996)囊括的六十位世界知名神學家之一,也是「2000年科學和醫療網圖書獎」(the Book Prize of the Scientific and Medical Network in 2000)得主,獲獎著作為《宗教和科學自然主義》(Religion and Scientific Naturalism)

Roger T. Ames

夏威夷大學中國哲學教授(Professor of Chinese Philosophy, the University of Hawaii)安樂哲先生是著名的中西哲學比較研究學者,自1991年至2000年春季擔任「中國研究中心」(the Center for Chinese Studies)的主任,並且自1987年以來便擔任《中西哲學》(Philosophy East and West)的編輯。在1993年,他協助出版了《中國研究書評》(China Review International)。這是夏威夷創新的評論中國研究之新學術期刊,他自1991年至2000年擔任其執行編輯。Ames也是東西方中心的亞洲研究發展計畫的計畫主持人,期間並成功獲得多項「國家人文獎」(National Endowment for the Humanities)和富爾布萊特獎助金(Fulbright Grant)等。他研究興趣集中在比較哲學、文化哲學、環境哲學、傳統儒學(Confucianism)以及道家(Taoism),著作豐富

波士頓大學神學院副院長博特松博士是North American Interfaith Network(簡稱NAIN)的創辦會員之一、基督教教會國家會議交互信仰關係委員會的成員,也是The forum on Religion and Ecology的會員。他活躍於許多與交互信仰關係及環境等相關的協會與機構之中。他的教學與研究的興趣包括多信仰對話的方面、多樣化宗教之分享、中國與東亞之宗教與哲學、和比較神學與哲學。在這些領域上他曾發表了許多的著作與論文。

    博特松博士對於東方文化尤其是中國儒家哲學深感興趣,著作等身,自為開立「波士頓儒家」。
